Hello everyone. We students (and teacher) are very proud of our hard work on the class Upstanding Blog. Please take a few minutes to sign up to read and comment on our blogs. Here’s how to do it:

1) Get the Parent Code

  1. Go to www.kidblog.org/upstandingblog and log in (as student)

  2. Click Control Panel

  3. Choose Profile

  4. Copy parent code

2) Sign Up!

  1. Go to www.kidblog.org

  2. Choose Parents

  3. Enter Parent Code and Join

  4. Enter username (Mr. / Ms. _____ ), password, and email

3) Read Blogs and Comment (Positive Only, Please)

NOTE: The purpose of commenting on the blogs is to continue the conversation about what it means to be an upstander. Ask questions and write authentic responses to student ideas. Please do not comment on errors—those will be addressed in class, not in a public forum. Here are two supportive ways to comment on student blogs:

Option 1 (3 i’s)

  1. Introduce: Explain  the part you want to talk about. Try, “I noticed…” or “I’m interested in the part where you…” or “I like where you talk about…”

  2. Insert: Insert a quote by the blogger. Use quotation marks. Ex. You write, “…” or One golden line that stands out is, “…”

  3. Interpret: What are your thoughts? Try, “This makes me wonder…” or “I had a similar / different idea. My idea is…” or “I think your message might be…”
